Continuous Delivery Is Prime Time with Kris Read

The chips have fallen; within companies that treat software development process as a competitive advantage, CD has won out over iterations, release cycles, sprints and scrum.

Amazon was deploying code changes on average every minute - five years ago. Facebook releases multiple times a day. From Github to LinkedIn to Netflix, the list goes on and on. Continuous Delivery isn't something for startups or cowboys or unicorns. HP reduced development costs by 40% over agile. Wired called it "the software revolution behind gushing profits."

Still, managers and executives - especially outside the "silicon valley" ecosystem - remain skeptical and unconvinced as to the benefits and drivers behind Continuous Delivery. Many don't have a vision forward, saying "We're still working on getting more agile" or "We're not that automated." Time for agile to remember it's revolutionary roots. What do you do once you've changed the world? Change it again.

Vogogo has done 1500 rock-solid deploys a year in Calgary since adopting CD in 2014. This talk shines a spotlight on our risk-driven culture and why CD was a natural fit. Kris will talk about real, practical differences in practices and processes that produce tangible results, and leave you with some tips for agile teams.
